Words To Keep You (And I) Going

If we burn our wings
Flying too close to the sun
If the moment of glory
Is over before it’s begun
If the dream is won --Though everything is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost

When the dust has cleared
And victory denied
A summit too lofty
River a little too wide
If we keep our pride --Though paradise is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost

And if the music stops
There’s only the sound of the rain
All the hope and glory
All the sacrifice in vain
[and] if love remains
Though everything is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost

I enjoyed reading the poem.

Who wrote it?
...(smile) maybe I should know that- but I don't!

OK! OK!

...With all the 'Bravado' I could muster,I had to 'RUSH' and find those lyrics!

...So now I know! (Smile)

Junie, keep keying in on where I'm getting these lyrics and I'm going to start posting arcane lyrics from Van Der Graaf Generator. (Yes, it was 'Bravado'. I thought it was a great piece of writing on Neil Peart's part and was worth posting.)

Spitfire,

Yes,I will keep reading your blog and lyrics.

I have always been fascinated with good and/or interesting song lyrics, even above the actual music!
A song needs to say something for me- even if I need, sometimes, to ponder over the words to make sense of them!

(all my life I have written poetry -so I like WORDS! (Smile) )

I love the music of the 70s...the concept albums where all the songs are connected. I have been exploring a lot of the music of that time.

Haven't yet experienced 'RUSH' but
now I have a yen to do that!

(playing Catch-Up with all the music I've missed is hard but fun!!!)
