Protesters
Yesterday, it was reported that world-wide protests over the war in Iraq had taken place. Today, the numbers are in: the turn-out was paltry. One needn't think too hard as to why this is the case, as it is self-evident: there's no draft. The principle reason why protests against the Vietnam War were so huge was because the vast majority of the males involved had at least a reasonable chance of getting drafted. When Nixon ended the draft, even Vietnam protests dwindled, even though the war had not. So it goes. That said, at least Mercedes can thank them for some free promotion.
